Jello Shots

Jello Shots can be made using almost any type of alcohol. The only thing you need to do is to adjust amount of cold water in them according to the proof of the alcoholic beverage to ensure that the shot still sets. The higher the proof of the alcohol, the more water is required to set. Here is the small table that will help you to figure out the amount of water you need to add.

Jello shots are usually served in shot glasses, but you might want to serve them in paper cups since they can be turned inside out to free the jello. If you do serve jello shots in shot glasses, be sure to provide something to get the shot from the glass; you can use knives, spoons, toothpicks or any other things for that purpose. Another thing you can do is to warm up shot glasses – this will make the jello shot to slide free. Just put them in warm water for a minute or so.

If you plan a long jello shot party a good thing to do is to add more cold water and less alcohol to your shots. The reason for this is that jello actually slows down the absorption of alcohol, so even experienced drinkers may not be able to accurately determine their state and decide whether they should consume any more or not. So, if your shots are “less alcoholic”, your party lasts longer; and besides, you will be able to avoid any unpleasant situations that may occur.
